I’ve blogged about saving, investing, options, mutual funds, bonds, money stories, how to, money and marriage, etc.
Let me know?

Hello,
Now I am wondering if you got the 1st email. I really didn’t say much.
Have you ever had a collaberate forum where people can go to you with their financial woes. There is so much credit card debt nowdays.
The financial columns and books I have read presume you know “the basics.” Would you please write to my level of knowledge–the average American. I have $50 a month that I could invest. I am disabled, living on Social Security, and I would like a simple direction to begin with. Please tell me the red flags. Once I understand the choices of investments and what will work with $50/month, then point me in the next direction.
Do you think that this blog could be collaberative forum? I would invest my $50 each month for how long, and then I could come back to you with the next direction.
Others have huge credit card debt. Maybe you would help them. Their plan would be of interest of many others, and they just might try to follow the same plan!
Social Security and Medicare will not be here forever with the “baby boomers” retiring now. We have not made a habit of saving for tomorrow. What will we do? I guess, I am asking “What am I going to do? ” My medical bills are so high, and then prescriptions.
There are thousands of people just like me. We need to learn NOW!
I wish you a tremendously successful future!
We will talk again.
Sincerely,
CB

Hi Cindy. I did get a comment yesterday that was empty so maybe that was you, I don’t know.
I thought about starting a forum and I have been writing this blog to see where it takes me and/or where I take it. To be honest, this online community stuff - blogs, forums, etc. takes a huge time commitment.
Anyway, you might want to try http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog. That site is a blog with a forum and a huge amount of members. They’ve covered of lot of financial ground including the scenarios you are talking about.
If I was starting out with $50/month and didn’t know where to invest, I would first start putting it in an online saving account like HSBCDirect as I’ve talked about here at this blog.
This will get you into the habit of putting money away every month that will make a little bit of money over time while you determine what investments are right for you and how to pursue them.
For now, check out that http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog.
These are good topics you bring up and I might write about them in the near future.
I wish you the best.
Thanks,
Bill
